Title: There He Goes Again
Author: Katt/Spiralicious
Pairing: Baby/Dean (in the background, but important)
Rating: Mature
Warnings: implied mechanophilia
Summary: Sam doesn't know what his brother is doing out in his car, nor does he care, he is just really tired of Dean's song and dance to go and spend more time with it.
Notes: It's completely Sam's POV. This story can be read alone, of course, but it is also a follow up to a fic I wrote in 2014 called I'm in Love With My Car.
“No, not again,” Sam muttered under his breath. Last time at Bobby's had been bad enough. Couldn't Dean show a little self control?
He watched Dean pretend to forget something out in the car and make a ridiculously big deal about it. Dean was an excellent liar, why was his acting so bad?
Sam rolled his eyes and practically yelled at his brother to get out as Dean began listing other things he would do while he was out in the car, since he would already be there, and to cover for the amount of time he was going to be out there.
He could understand Dean's not wanting to be all, “Hey Sammy, I need to go spend some alone time with my car, don't need me for a while,” but did he really need to make this much of a production out going out there without saying it?
Worse, maybe Dean really though Sam had no clue. That was not only insulting to his hunting skills, but also implied that he didn't have the basic observation skills of a human being that wasn't blind! More than once he had seen his brother rub against the car when they were in the middle of nowhere, directly in front of a window, with no expectations that Sam would be asleep yet. It wasn't for very long before he would get in the car and do whatever he did once he was inside. Sam refused to picture it. Hell, last time Dean actually managed to turn on the car, turn on the headlights, and honk the horn in the process! How stupid did he think he was?!
Sam stopped himself before he turned the doorknob, only just now realizing he had gotten up to yell at his brother. He really didn't want to know what Dean did out in the car, he had a pretty good idea, but he didn't want details. Bobby had accidentally seen it that last time and the look on his face when he came inside was haunting. Also, it dawned on Sam that his brother probably thought he was being slick, which was kind of sad. They didn't get a lot of joy in this life, why take this one from him? Yeah, it was creepy, but who was he hurting anyway.
But Sam did decide that he was going to randomly play “I'm in Love with My Car” in Dean's presence until it drove him batty for good measure anyway. He was the younger sibling after all.
